It’s time for the debut of a new show on The Marshall Pruett Podcast as Inside The Sports Car Paddock, a weekly interview format where drivers, team owners, engineers, and more bring us inside their world following major events like last weekend’s Rolex 24 At Daytona, and other happenings spanning North American, European, and Asian sports car racing.
Our debut episode opens with CORE autosport race engineer Jeff Braun who breaks down the team’s incredible efforts to get their Nissan Onroak DPi to the finish line, the reasons why heavy rains made it impossible to continue racing, and whether the first red flag should have been the final red of the day. BMW Team RLL technical director Brandon Fry is next on the guest list as he details the program’s win in the GT Le Mans category, the steering column issues that struck the sister BMW M8 GTE entry when Alex Zanardi climbed in for his first stint, and more from a 24-hour contest that had highs and lows for the German brand.
The final interview in our debut episode goes to A.J. Allmendinger, who had a busy weekend pulling double duty driving a Meyer Shank Racing Acura NSX GT3 in GTD and sprinting up to the NBC Sports broadcast booth between stints.
Jeff Braun: Starts at 4m25s
Brandon Fry: 1h2m30s
A.J. Allmendinger: 1h21m13s
